Dong people believe that all the nature beings are dominated by gods, thus the harvest, climate are all influenced.

Dong people worship various kinds of god including God of land which they will hold worship activities through offering sacrifices of pig, sheep, chicken etc; God of water, the Dong woman has to burn paper beside the river and well before taking water home; God of ox, to feed the ox with specially made rice to demonstrate thankfulness.
